About Lab Dossier

Lab Dossier writes step-by-step science lab files for middle and high school classrooms and homeschool families. Every lab file follows the same structure — a testable question, the independent and dependent variables, a hypothesis, a numbered procedure, a data table, and what a class should expect to see — so a teacher can hand it straight to a student, or a student can work through it alone.

Who writes this

Lab files are written and checked by Priya Kessler, science curriculum editor. Priya writes and checks every lab file on Lab Dossier for accuracy, safety, and classroom fit. She previously taught middle school science for seven years before moving into curriculum writing.

How a lab file is built

Every procedure on this site is checked against published safety guidance from sources like the American Chemical Society and OSHA before it is posted, and every formula and data table is checked by hand. Lab files are marked with a hazard level — low or medium — so a teacher can screen a lab before assigning it. Nothing on this site substitutes for a teacher's own judgment about what is appropriate for a specific classroom, age group, or set of school safety rules.
